A cohort analysis consists of creating groups of users who have similar characteristics (e.g., age, gender, location) and then examining how those groups behave on your website or application over time. These analyses can help you understand what types of people are using your product and how their behavior differs from others who use it.

This kind of analysis is handy when comparing the characteristics of different groups to see whether they are more or less likely to perform specific actions on your site. For example: Do younger users engage more than older ones? Do men perform a particular action more often than women? How about people from different locations?
